Business Beat: Jonathan Walker, Director of Sports Sales, RI Sports Commission, PWCVB

The Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau (PWCVB) announced today that Jonathan Walker has been promoted to Director of Sports Sales within the Rhode Island Sports Commission (RISC), a division of the PWCVB. Walker, who joined the team in 2019, most recently served as Sports Sales Manager.  “Jonathan Walker is an asset not just to the PWCVB team, but to the entire state of Rhode Island,” said Kristen Adamo, president and CEO of the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau. “As part of the RISC, he spotlights our communities through the platform of Sports , which helps drive visitation and revenue for Rhode Island. His track record speaks for itself, having supported nearly 50 Sports -related meetings and events in fiscal year 2022, and he is most deserving of this opportunity to further showcase his talents. EBRI Survey Says Unpaid Caregivers Less Likely to Save for Retirement By Herb Weiss, contributing writer on aging issues According to the 33rd annual Retirement Confidence Survey (RCS) released last week, caregivers are more likely to have lower levels of assets and more likely to have problems with debt than non-caregivers. Because of this they are also less likely to have saved for retirement, and are more likely to retire earlier than planned for reasons out of their control, which can reduce the lifestyle of caregivers in retirement. According to the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI), a nonpartisan organization researching health, personal finance and economic security issues, the RCS is the longest-running survey of its kind that measures worker and retiree confidence. The survey is conducted jointly by EBRI and Greenwald Research, a firm specializing in retirement, employee benefits and health care research. The online survey of 2,537 Americans was
